DAY SAFARI ITINERARY *optional balloon ride*
Day 1
Around 0800 hours, drive from Arusha
to the LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL
PARK. Packed lunch. Afterwards, drive up the escarpment of the Great
Rift Valley. Dinner and overnight at the Lake Manyara Hotel,
perched on the escarpment of the Rift Valley wall.
Day 2
After breakfast, drive through the
NGORONGORO CONSERVATION AREA to the SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK. On the
way pass at the OLDUVAI GORGE, site famous for archaeological excavations
for prehistoric human being and where you will get lectures and view some
fossils. Packed lunch. Dinner and overnight at the Lobo
Wildlife Lodge.
Day
3
Continue with the game viewing on the
SERENGETI PLAINS. Lunch, dinner and overnight at the Serengeti
Wildlife Lodge.
Day
4
BALLOON RIDE. before noon,
continue with the game viewing on the Plains. Afterwards, return to
the NGORONGORO CONSERVATION AREA. Dinner and overnight at the
Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge, built on the rim of the Crater.
Day
5
After breakfast, descend into the CRATER
for game viewing. Packed lunch. Afterwards, ascend from the Crater
and proceed to Karatu Township for dinner and overnight. Dinner and

6
After breakfast drive to Mang'ola Village
to visit Hadzabe Community (Bushmen). Packed
lunch. Dinner and overnight again at the Bougainvillea Safari Lodge.
Day 7
After breakfast, drive through the
escarpment of the Great Rift Valley for trip to the TARANGIRE NATIONAL
PARK for further game viewing. Lunch, dinner and overnight at the
Tarangire Safari Lodge, a tented camp with a swimming pool.

Day 8
Continue with the game viewing in the
TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK with full board accommodation at the
Tarangire Safari Lodge.
Day 9
After breakfast, drive to Mdori, a
culturally and linguistically diverse village. combine the
visit to the Maasai and Datoga (Nilotic linguistic groups ) kraals, Iraqw
(Cushitics) and Mbugwe (Bantus) homesteads. Packed or hot lunch,
dinner and overnight at the Maramboi Tented Camp, situated on the
eastern shores of the Lake Manyara overlooking the western wall of the
Great Rift Valley.

Day 10
After breakfast, continue with
cultural activities or drive to the Kolo Rock Paintings, a ride on the
Cape Town to Cairo road. (Famous author Ernest Hemingway acclaimed
in his book , Green Hills of Africa, “ …….here well graded smooth,
and carefully cut through wooded hills overlooking the long yellow stretch
of plains of the Masai Steppes…”) Packed lunch. Dinner and
overnight in Babati Township.
Day 11
Return to Arusha from Babati . A stretch of 55
kilometres is graded road. The rest of 155 kilometres is tarmac road
up to Arusha.
